Question 1

What is a kaomoji?

Accepted Answer

A kaomoji (顔文字, “face characters”) is a Japanese-style emoticon made from text symbols, read upright instead of sideways: (◕‿◕) instead of :-). Because they are plain Unicode text, they paste anywhere: chats, comments, usernames and bios.

Question 2

How do I copy a kaomoji?

Accepted Answer

Tap any face in the library or the builder preview. It is copied to your clipboard right away; paste it with Ctrl+V or a long press on your phone.

Question 3

Why do some kaomojis show boxes?

Accepted Answer

A few faces use rarer characters (Korean, Tamil or ancient scripts). If your device lacks a font for them you see empty boxes. Pick a similar face from the same mood; most use common characters.

Question 4

Can I make my own kaomoji?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The face builder lets you pick arms, body, eyes, cheeks and mouth, then copy the result. Shuffle gives you a random face to start from.

Question 5

Is kaomojis.net affiliated with any app?

Accepted Answer

No. It is an independent text tool. It does not need a login, does not install a keyboard and is not affiliated with any messaging app, game or keyboard maker.
