About Kaomojis

Kaomojis is an English-language kaomoji dictionary: every Japanese text face is listed with its common name, what it means, when people use it, how to type it, and a one-tap copy. It is made for English-speaking readers who want a name for Discord, iMessage, Instagram and TikTok, and it is run by the Kaomojis Editorial Team. The site launched in October 2026.

What the site does

  • Dictionary entries: each kaomoji with its name, meaning and when it is used.
  • Search by mood or paste a face you saw online to find its entry.
  • One-tap copy, plus notes on faces that show as boxes on some devices.

How we check what we publish

Every symbol and fancy letter is a Unicode character, not a font, so it can be copied anywhere text is allowed. When we say a symbol works in a game, the page gives the date and game version we checked. When we have not tested something, the page says “not yet tested” instead of guessing. Each list shows a character count so you can compare it with the name limit of your game.

Sources

Character data comes from the Unicode Standard. Game and app rules come from what the game or app shows on its own rename screen, checked on the date given on each page.

What we never publish

Faces copied from other sites’ lists without checking. Hateful or sexual kaomoji. Invented usage stats or fake popularity counters. Readers can report a problem by email and we remove it.

Independent

Kaomojis is an independent website. Discord, Instagram, TikTok and iMessage are trademarks of their owners. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
